End of Year FUNdraising Raffle

Starting on Tuesday, November 28th at midnight, every person that makes a minimum $10 donation will receive an entry into our Year End FUNdraising Raffle. We’ve reached out to a number of local businesses to provide you with a slew of fun prizes. 

On Saturday, December 31st at 12:00 pm, we’ll draw the winning raffle tickets during our winter Open House at Phillips Wharf from 11 am to 1 pm. During the Open House, we will be open to the public so that you can come in and see our animal ambassadors and displays, plus we’ll have hot chocolate and apple cider available.

However, you do not have to be present to win!

Below is a list of our current raffle prizes and their donors. Many thanks to our local businesses and donors that are supporting this year’s raffle!

See the Chesapeake Bay like never before with this prize package! This prize includes a gift certificate for a 2 hour beginners stand up paddleboard (SUP) lesson or a 2 hour guided paddle excursion for 2 by local Paddlefit Certified SUP Instruction & Excursion Guide, Kate Richards.

This is a fabulous opportunity for you to experience the Chesapeake Bay. If it’s your first time an a SUP, maybe you’ll fall in love with a new sport that gets you out enjoying our beautiful Bay. If you’re already an experienced paddler, the guided excursion can show you a new paddle route to explore. Either way, you’ll get out on the water and fall even more in love with the Chesapeake!

Mother Mary’s Creations is a local, woman run business created by Mary Kramer. Mary focuses on creating nautical based resin gifts including wall art, ornaments, jewelry, and more in conjunction with the brand new Open Studio creative space located in Easton, Maryland. Mary sells at local artisans markets and also accepts custom orders.

This particular piece is a 5 x 5 inch resin window in a wooden frame, featuring a blue crab, a sea star, sea glass, shells, and other fun items. Together, these objects create a whimsical undersea scene that will remind you of the Chesapeake Bay, no matter how far away you might be.

Local Chesapeake Bay outfitter, Brackish Life has donated two thank you packages for our donors. Brackish Life provides everything you need to be comfortable while spending time enjoying the great outdoors!

The first package includes a baseball cap and men’s long sleeve shirt. The cap is a black and white trucker hat with the classic “A little salty, a little fresh” logo and the long sleeve shirt is a UV performance shirt in a greyscale mossy oak print. This shirt features the brackish logo in Maryland flag print on the front and a blue crab on the back. These items can be exchanged in store for different sizes and colors.

A bottle of this year’s batch of Blackberry Rum from local distillery, Windon Distilling in St. Michaels, Maryland.

If you’ve never sipped on this rum liquor, you are definitely missing out. It perfectly captures the delicious flavor of summer blackberries. Try it with fresh squeezed lemonade for a refreshing blackberry lemonade, or replace the white rum in a mojito for a fun take on a summer classic.

This gift card is our way of saying lunch or a coffee and a loaf of challah bread are on us.

This raffle prize is a set of 4 hand printed linocut cards featuring a common Chesapeake Bay fish, the mummichog. Also known as bull minnows or just minnows, these silvery little fish can be found throughout the Bay along marshes and in grass beds.

These cards are printed with black ink on bright white 5 x 6.5 inch cards. They’re blank inside and perfect for sending someone a quick note to say you’re thinking of them.

This raffle prize is a set of 4 hand printed linocut cards featuring a horseshoe crab. This ancient animal has looked the same for millions of years and their blood contains a compound (LAL) used to ensure that medical equipment is sterile.

These cards are printed with gold ink on bright white 5 x 6.5 inch cards. They’re blank inside and perfect for sending someone a quick note to say you’re thinking of them.
